| Planning a Musky trip for a nephew for a Grad present. Northern Wi or Northern MN. He'd probably do better with more action vs quality fish. Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. His Uncle needs to put him on some fish. |

| If you want numbers, WI. If you want big fish, MN. |

Location: Almond, WI | If you need to be on fish N. WI is a better bet. June is the best month to fish Wisconsin (aside from September which is great everywhere) IMO. I've gone to N. MN in mid June several times now, I will not this year. It's just not worth the drive up to catch nothing (which happened 3 of the last 4 times in June) and put up with terrible weather (4 straight times with 1"+ rain storms on multiple days or 20+ degree temperature swings). |

Location: Almond, WI | Also a lot of the guys that do well early in MN are trolling open water. If you don't have the gear or don't enjoy trolling, it could be a long trip. If you are interested in the technique, hire a guide. |

| Northern MN can be really tough the first few weeks, especially if you're mainly thinking about casting. But it can also be lights out fantastic too. That being said, the bite on the larger lakes like Leech, Cass, Vermillion, Bemidji etc typically don't really kick in until early July. Not saying people don't catch fish in June but you really have to know what you're doing and have some experience on that particular body of water to consistently put fish in the boat in June. |

If you can make it happen go the other way to LSC. There is a fish or two in there. Ik you didn't mention it but it's a thought. |
