Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | We were planning to hit the water around 2PM, but the weather was unbelievably rough. The house took a direct lightning hit, burned out all three of my surge protectors. They served the purpose, no damage to my modem for the satellite or the dial up. I would guess we got over 2" of rain. The water was roaring over the sides of the gutters and shooting out into the yard. Needless to say, Foxy lady stayed in the driveway.

Posts: 1294 Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | I have done real well all week, until the first storm of the day. Then it seemed to shut everything down. Yesterday I boated 2 in the A.M., then about noon the first of about 6 thunder cells hit and everything quit moving. Finally got tired of dodging the heavy clouds and got off the water about 4, just before a gulley washer hit. It was real interesting watching the wind shifts all day, from N. to S. to W. to N.E. Made boat control a real challenge. Darn near wore out the rain gear taking it on and off all day, but at least it kept most of the pleasure boaters at bay.

Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | It's doing that crap again!! I am waiting for Theedz to get here so we can hit the water. That would be easy right now, as the water seems to be solid all around the house. ;(

Posts: 2 | Fished yesterday morning on Pelican for four hours, nothing. Went to two other area lakes this morning for 5 hours managed a 38 and 35. Fished for the first two hours fast, then put on slow, small glide baits to finally trigger a couple fish.

Posts: 2091 Location: Stevens Point, WI | I went to the in-laws today and fished off their dock on the Wolf River for an hour or so with crawlers on a float rig, managed a couple of sheeps and a couple of channel cats. It felt good to finally toss something in the water, then the torrential rain came. We had almost 3 inches of rain there, and the Wolf went up by almost a foot in a couple of hours.

Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Theedz and his daughtwer are up to fish with Oneida Esox tomorrow, and stayed at the Hideout. We went to a small lake tonight for a couple hours and moved five, all within a 25 minute window on topwater. No takers, but some excitement anyway. It quit raining and thundering here about 4, and quit raining entirely about 6.

Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The weather looks like it is entering a same-same phase for the next ten days or so here. Partly cloudy and mid 70's mostly. Perfect evening surface bait weather.
