Is it just me or is catching your first Muskie like shooting your first Buck.
Last week I caught a 40" off of Two Points on Leech. We also had a half dozen follows

Naw, It's just you! We are the most sane people there is! hehehe NOT!!!

Welcome to the club. Hope you got a lot of money, and an understanding wife/family. What kind of boat do you have? I'm sure you need something bigger, better, and faster. That's OK, cuz we all have lots of advice for you! LOL

Welcome aboard!

P.S. Do you know cornbred? or is it bread? AKA mikie! hehehe

I have a little money and no brains. We have a cabin at Leech and just a standard 16ft crestliner w/25hp Honda.
Actually, I have been fishing Leech for 25YRS and never looked for the Muskie. Now that's all I'm looking for. The one Muskie I caught is probably one more fish than the entire walleye population this year.

Cornfed. Welcome. There are many on this site who share your qualities. I have little money and no brains as well. You have found a new home.:-)

Yes, shooting a nice buck and catching a nice muskie are somewhat alike. The only real difference is NO ONE will ever be able to talk me into shoot and release!

Glad you enjoy MuskieFIRST.

Congrats onb your first. Took me a long time to get mine, you are fortunate to have such good water so close. I'll make ya a pan of Conrbread to celebrate!
You might think about jumping over to Cass Lake in September for the MuskieFirst / Muskynut outing, check the "outings" section of the message board for details. Some mighty fine sticks will be there to assist you in getting more big fish in the boat. Enjoy your new addiction! m

what?? you mean you wouldn't use a tranq gun and just shoot them, get a picture and leave them alone? That'd actually be kind of neat.

Nope. I must shoot deer in the fall. It is critical to my sanity. I then eat the deer. That is critical to my belly.

It would be fun to hunt with a splat ball gun when all the tags are full, though.

Well, I wouldn't expect anyone to not use their tags first

anyway, back on topic.
Congrats on your fish!
