Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | Monday afternoon our office manager came out and told me I had 3 more days of vacation to use up by the end of the month or lose them. I know I had burned them all up, but who am I to argue with the accuracy of management! So, I did what any hard working, honest, employee would do--I kept my mouth shut and went fishing. Tuesday started out sunny and clear and I thought about taking care of some honey-do's, but a front was scheduled to arrive in the evening, so around noon I kissed the better half goodbye and made the 2 hour trek to Vilas county. As I drove up, the clouds began to build as did my anticipation. After a leisurly businessmans lunch I launched the boat on a normally busy lake(at least when I normally am there) To my surprise, I was the only vehicle at the ramp. For the next 6 hours I had a dream trip. Only saw 2 other boats-both fisherman-and no jet skis or water skiers. The best part was the fish were moving. Got 4 in the boat and had numerous follows. Nothing big, all were in low to mid 30's but the action was steady all afternoon. All 4 came on boatside hits on a Slammer drop-belly worked extremely fast. For some reason the fish wanted everything fast that day. The evening bite never got going so I packed up about 10 P.M. and headed home from a hard day at the office. I'm thinking about working hard again tomorrow if the weather cooperates. Thanks boss!!! |

I am still going to the Sabaskong outing, it may be a while before I can take a vacation again

Location: Pardeeville, WI | My boss told me the same thing a few years ago. He said I had an extra 8 hours I needed to use. I told him I thought he was wrong but I took it anyways. About a month later he comes up and says it was a mistake and I actually didnt have 8 hours to burn.
So they ended up deducting a full 8 hours pay from me the next pay period.
Managements fault = my loss. Its pretty sad isnt it? |

Location: Minneapolis, MN | Consider yourself very lucky that you work for a company that clearly has not automated their attendence process. I on the otherhand work for the leading Time & Attendence software company, and yes we do use our own stuff!....ugh. |
