Hey guys I have a Calcutta D that is a few years old that's been serviced and cleaned every year. Last year when I would cast with it, it wouldn't cast far at all and it seemed like the reel was fighting itself no matter how hard I casted. Then it would randomly loosen up for 2-5 casts and absolutely launch baits like it did when it was new. I tried adjusting the breaks but it didn't help. Would like to have an idea of wat is wrong with it so I know what to tell the reel repair guys. Thanks for any replies.
The Best thing to is send in the REEL so I could tear it down and inspect all the parts
Way to many parts that could be causing you that short casting.
I break down the reel 100% then all parts get ultrasonic cleaned and inspected before rebuilding the reel. Plus all D REELS will get the 5 Bearing upgrade and new Carbontex Drag upgrade and all contact points polished.
