Putting together ideas for my bachelor party this summer and looking for suggestions or recommendations.  There will be about 10 of us, currently thinking about getting a cabin or villa, etc. at one of the resorts on Gull for a friday & saturday night.  It seems brainerd area would let us do some fishing as well as plenty of other options for entertainment/having a few.

I've been there before, so kind of know what to expect, but if anybody has any resorts or areas to recommend I'm open to suggestions.

Lots of people around the gull lake area to judge you guys and kick you out of the resort or bars lol. We stayed in cabins for the last couple bachelor parties I attended , just on more remote lakes. Private cabins so i can't really help you out. I went to one in a huge cabin on Wynne Lake and we golfed giants ridge one of the days. That was pretty fun though there weren't many watering hole options around. We didn't fish at all during any of these... so there's a thought. We had every intention though

Yeah, i here you there. The last time i was up there we stayed at Maddens and I thought for sure we would get kicked out. And for the fishing, we may end up booking a half day with a guide or something, just because like you say it may not happen otherwise, regardless of intentions.

We did one up on Mile Lacs and went out on a launch and had a blast. They have a bar right at the resort (don't remember the name, but on the east side). The launch was awesome. Don't have to worry about anything, other than where you put your beer. We drove up with the boats, but never even used them.

LOL, it's funny you say that, because I believe that boat is now in Okoboji, so at least it would be close to home.

And rainy lake is a little further than we'd like to travel, the drive home on Sunday will be long enough!

yeah we rented a cabin/house at hunters point on mille lacs, drank at the bar, threw bags at the cabin, and the launch on friday was some of the most fun i've ever had on a boat. we were super drunk all weekend and nobody cared, not sure how we'd have coexisted with the gull lake crowd..........

House boat would be fun, but the only thing to think about is someone has to stay soberish to drive the boat, you more than likely be checked during your trip.

You've got your whole life to fish hopefully only one bachelor party stay at one of the prime hotels in downtown Minneapolis, hit the strip joints, mystic lake for after hours and plan on being hung so hire a half day guide trip on Tonka starting in the afternoon and finishing up afterwards at Fletchers or/and Maynards for part two.

Go out and sling musky baits on Gull all weekend, talk to all the property owners about how great it is that Gull was recently stocked.......

Why don't you bump it up on the timeline and hold it at the new Vikings stadium? They won't be needing it beyond a week or so ?

Try the Cross Lake Area. You can't go wrong there in the summer.

If not too far north, what about the Crane Lake houseboats? Very scenic, remote. If you run out of beer or food, they have folks that will run it out to you on the lake, regardless of where you are.

Breezy Point resort on Pelican lake is nice and cheaper than anything on Gull. Only about 10 mins from Brainerd.

Breezy point also rents some houses on the lake in close proximity to the resort

After talking with everyone else, we are planning on getting a cabin on mille lacs for a weekend. There we can go out on a charter launch and take a party bus out later that night. Should have the reservation finished up this afternoon. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, they all sound like a good time!
