| Anyone have any experience with the new Fenwick's. I have one a few years old, looks like they updated them a bit. Looking at the 9' xh. Anybody know from an action standpoint (speed and power) how they compare to the Big Nasty or the TI xh? Have not found one in a store to look at yet. Thanks for the input. |

| I do not have experience with the Big Nasty or the TI XH. That being said, I feel no need to to get either of those, because I love the Fenwick. I have used it for the past two seasons. It does all of the things I want it to do very well. I have two of them. I use one for blades and one for rubber. I dont throw pounders with it, but it handles Mags very well. Its handle is not as long as some of the other brands, but I am actually okay with that. And the rod casts bucktails and rubber a country mile. |

Location: US | I have an 8' Heavy-Fast that I use for everything from 8's to mag dawgs and I really like it, they seem light and well balanced. I would think the 9' XH would handle most rubber/big blades great, but could be light for pounders. |

Location: Madison, WI | I have the 9' xh and it was my bucktail rod all last season. I really liked it but I wish the handle was a touch longer. Very light and casts and loads well. I like it better than my TI and I just acquired a big nasty but haven't got to use it to compare them yet. |

| Thanks for the feedback. Danmuskyman, which TI do you have? I have the 8.5 and 9', and both worked well for blades. I think I want a faster action for blades, TI has a relatively slow action but good backbone. Looking for something between TI and St Croix, and at 200, seems like a good deal. |

Location: deephaven mn | Jamz the fenwick and big nasty are real close in comparison action wise the fenwick may be a slightly stiffer and i do mean slighty, the fenwicks handle is 1 and 5/8 longer than the big nasty (full cork model) and skinnyer. I would say that the fenwick is an ounce or two lighter in overall weight . The St. Croix is built in the USA of where as the fenwick is built in Korea |

| so the big nasty with a 3-8 OZ would feel almost the same as the fenwick at 4-12 OZ throwing mag dawgs around 9 OZ ? |

If you have both rods could you measure from butt to real seat on both rods? |
