Posts: 391 | Can't wait to hear more and get one in hand to try it out. I'm in the market for a new reel, just trying hard not to jump the gun and try a bunch out before I buy the first cool thing I get my hands on. Is it April yet?

Posts: 531 | Looks pretty awesome, hopefully they are as tough as the 500 size! The 400 looks to be the perfect replacement for my Lexa 400s that didn't hold up so well...

Posts: 20266 Location: oswego, il | No low gear ratio but i think with the popularity of the 500 size these will be a hot sell. We will be seeing some good deals on the HS 500 and some other reels in the BST forum soon.

Posts: 1901 Location: MN | Interesting that Shimano not mentioning them or showing them on their own web site yet. Perhaps they won't until they are actually available. Wonder why they allowed this particular re-seller to promo first.

Posts: 859 Location: MN | A great reel I'm sure but that line capacity is pretty low on the 300 version.

Location: Northern Wisconsin | Shimano has done that in the past. 5-6 years ago they redid the Chronarch series.. all they did was paint the cheaper curado a different color and added a ball bearing or two and called it the Chronarch.

Posts: 132 | Far cry from the 500, but still should be a sweet new lefty option. That 401 7.6:1 should be a nice rubber reel.

Posts: 1100 | ohh yes a 501HG would be awesome, then I could sell one of my 500HG and have one of each, to switch hands whenever i get tired of the same motion :D
