| Bought a new revo toro beast, has about 60hrs on it now and it squeals on the cast. I saw a post that a lexa did this aswell. Can you guys help me out? I tried putting a few drops of oil in the gear port but that didn't work.

| You need to get a single drop on each of the arbor bearings, the thumb nob/screw has a screw driver head as well. Loosen that, then slide it 1/6th inch towards the crank( it's spring loaded and has a retainer, will not come out) twist the no crank side plate backwards a bit, it will come off. Pull the spool out that side. See bearings, oil them. Don't over oil. I put grease on level wind and thumb bar and where the arbor rest on side plate. You will probably want to do this after an hour of fishing a second time. Sealed bearings don't accept the oil as well. I also put a drop in the cast control nob as well. Also what I do is set all my brakes to zero and then re-engage brakes as they were, ( sometimes they seem to change themselves) take your first casts easy and I cast with the reel positioned to let gravity flow down into each bearing. 90* left of use position and then 90* right.
Don't have a lure hanging at the tip of the rod, and make sure to pay attention to how it came apart, cast control nob has a plastic clicker and a metal washer with edges sometimes they stay sometimes they fall, there are two knobson one side of the plastic and a bunch of teeth on the other just pay attention To what side is where |

Reels require regular lubrication and really should be lubed coming out of the box, look at the included papers to identify lube points.
When taking a reel (any reel) out of the box, use the oil provided and make sure all the bearings and oil points are lubed. Takes a couple minutes while setting the cast control and will make your first few experiences with the reel far more enjoyable. Enjoy the reel, it's a sweet machine. |
