Posts: 14 | So this past weekend I don't know what their deal was but they loved to nip the tail of the Phantom. So I have to replace some tails..... now with that being said what kind of glue should a guy use to replace the tail. I am just worried about smell and taste or if that won't even matter I just don't want to deter the fish. Thanks in advance

Posts: 1209 | Where you buy the phantom replacement tails should sell phantom glue... They say muskies don't smell or taste like other fish. Aka no worries.

Posts: 275 | I am trying to glue on a new action plastic tail on a phantom style lure. The super glue that will stick my fingers together didn't work so I got the gorilla gel and it still takes a drop and a day to dry. I have to do that 4 consecutive days. Is there a surface preparation I should be doing? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Tom

Posts: 1039 Location: North St. Paul, MN | The gorilla glue takes a day to dry...not the "best" if you ask me. Plus it expands and leaves a residue on the outside of the tail and around the bait. Probably not that big of a deal, but... I've found the 99 cent stuff is best. But, you really have to push the tail into the pin after you've put your drop of glue. It takes about one minute to set. Hold the tail there for that one minute and you'll be good to go.

Thanks Tom get regular gorilla glue and prep surface and then dampen one of the surfaces and it will bond and cure fast..
