| Depends on what baits you're running. 44's and braid while running big baits is a PITA. You have to modify the board or double wrap. I've gone to the new Offshore Mag boards this year and they perform much better. |

| Primarily 10'', 14'' Jakes and 10'', 12'' headlocks. What off shore model do you run? Did you have to upgrade anything? I will be running 100# power pro. |

Location: Sw Pennsylvania | I use both off shore and the TX 44 church boards. The off shore work fine for smaller baits up to 5mph, need the the locking style clip. The TX 44 with upgraded clip will pull bigger baits just fine. I've had perchbaits up to almost 6mph on them. |

Location: oswego, il | Been using the tx44 boards. I have run the stock, locking and the offshore locking clip. All slip on braid for me. I have to double wrap. The other issue is the reel. You need a reel with big cranking power. Just a power handle wont cut it. My okumas with the power handle on the extention cut it. I have other trolling reels with power handles that wont bring them in.
They give you a nice spread and are well worth using. |

Location: minocqua, wi. | lost one on the tail clip on the big water this year, so went to corkscrew snaps like my trolling coach recommended, i do a double wrap on the upgraded black clip with braid and lead-core and feel like i could pull anything around with the 44's and haven't lost a fish disconnecting ... |

| ^^^very similar to my current setup. If you're trolling with braid, no clip will hold big baits. You need to double wrap |

I think they're much nicer than the 44's, but they still slip for me. |

Location: oswego, il | Those new offshore boards look nice. I have the offshore locking clips on my tx44 boards and tbey slip on braid, weither it is 80lb for muskie or 40lb for salmon, i have to double wrap. Mono o.issues slipping. |

Location: new richmond, wi. & isle, mn | Are there any retailers carrying the new mag offshores yet? I'd like find a couple to keep consistent. I have the or-12's that I've upgraded to the or-18 clips. No problem with 12" headlocks or 14" Jakes with the mags? |

Location: oswego, il | I have. Ot had any issues double wrapping braid. I don't like it but never an issue. I would think if it were the 30 and 40lb braid would have failed on a salmon.
I have aquired 4 more okuma coldwater reels with mono on them. Going to use those on my aner boards. I redid my salmon setups and segmented a 4ft section of mono on my copper and leadcore setups where i would attach the board. I will.still have to double wrap my early season coho setups. |

Location: 31 | I'm more interested if these bigger Offshore boards would increase the spread than if they pull big baits better, Q: Has anyone who's owns both offshore size boards let out the same amount of line, same bait, on the same side of the boat simultaneously to see if there's any appreciable spread difference?

Location: 31 | FYI, we kept wearing out the RO16 red clip pins so I just cut off what was left of the posts and tightened up the front RO18 clip a little bit more… they stay on 50 pound monofilament fine and are easier to take on and off. |
