| Has anyone ever bought a Tranx PG that actually had the HG gears in it by mistake????Or perhaps it was actually a HG with the PG side plate on it???
I have a PG and a HG and myself and a very experienced Shimano guy think my PG works the exact same as my HG. And we also compared my PG to his PG and it was definitely noticeable.
My reel is currently at Shimano Service now.

| Definitely the same amount of line on each reel, but I haven't measured inches per crank. I should hear from Shimano today.
I always heard that cranking double 10's all day with a PG was a breeze, but that's definitely not the case with mine. |

Location: Waukee, IA | Check the inches per turn. One thing nobody seems to be talking about is that even the PG is 30 inches/turn, which is similar to a NaCl high speed. If you switched from something slower it will definitely be noticeable especially when pulling D10's. Everybody has a preferred speed that they like to crank, if you like to crank fast with little resistance then the faster reels will not be your friend. If you like more resistance but fewer turns them high speed reels will suit you better |

| It was a fast cranker for sure, but it was more the resistance that seemed to be way too much compared to another PG. |

I wouldn't say it is a "breeze". I would say it is much easier than a vast majority/all of other reels.
What Rod are you using? Because if you don't have the right Rod the Tranx will not be able to compensate with just any |

| The way to tell for sure is to take off the leader and put a small piece of tape on the line. Turn the handle one complete revolution. If the tape goes around 6 and a half times it is high gear. If 4 and a half power gear. With thiis method it does not matter how much line is on the reel or if the spool is empty |

| So got my reel back from Shimano. Lucky I live in the same city as their Canadian head office.
Indeed my PG had HG gears in it. Changed them and I will trying it tomorrow.
Got a new Lund Pro Guide to try out as well. Gonna be a good weekend!!!!!! |
