Last night I lost my biggest in 30+ years of muskie fishing. I had it boat side and she came out of the water and threw the hook. I've never had much luck on getting a fish that I've lost getting to bite again. My question is, do you have much luck in getting big fish to hit again on the same day/within 24 hours?

Caught a fish exactly 24 hours later that tossed my bait the day before on Same exact spot. Caught a big fish twice a couple weeks apart. Had some follow all summer long, not eat and finally caught them. My biggest fish never caught I had and lost 3 times over a month or so. Some I've had follow dozens of times in a season and never caught them.

I don't think it is out of the question for a fish to bite again. They can be very aggressive fish sometimes. You gotta remember they are at the top of totem pole so don't put it past them to take some pain and still be interested in eating.

I can think of two occasions when I hooked a fish and lost it and went back within a few days and caught the fish.
Both times it happened on a river.
I lost a very nice fish at another spot on the river and I returned three different times and the fish showed up on my fish finder on two of those days, but I never could get it to do anything again.
Who knows what those crazy fish will do...

A friend of mine witnessed a fish on kinkaid in an IMTT tournament at about 9 in the morning. His partner caught the same fish about 2 in the afternoon on the same day on the other side of the same small cove.
