| Back in May, I purchased size 7 and 5 heavy spilt rings from Rollies. Today I needed two #5's and when attaching them to the hooks, they broke. Now I can't trust any of these. Anyone else break new split rings lately? (note, this isn't a bash at R&H's) I need to find out how many places make these heavies.

| That's very disheartening news. I was just about to place an order for a bunch of those. I'm not sure who makes them. They're just sold under Rollie and Helen's name. If you're looking for good split rings I would go with Wolverine. The bad part about their split rings is because they're triple coiled, they won't work on all baits. I've been told that Bucher's split rings are really good. They sell them at Thorne Brothers. Another place you might try is Moore's Lures. They make tackle components and have a wide variety of split rings. |

| I bought some bucher split rings from mto they are nice and very strong. Agree that wolverines won't work on every bait. |

Location: Freedom, WI | Bucher rings are made by Worth. Worth sells them as Extra Heavy so they are the same. Metal is metal and simple things can cause a weak spot sometimes, unfortunate but it happens. All a manufacturer can do is try and minimize issues as best they can. Do not know who makes those for Rollies as there are multiple places to get rings made. I use Worth Extra Heavy and Wolverine stainless and had no issues with both so far. |

| Try Owner they make some very high quality split rings up to some large sizes. |

| I haven't contacted the musky shop yet. I'm leaving Friday for Ontario and when I get back I will. I'm sure they'll take care of this. I'm just nervous as all hell that this may happen with a fish. Thanks for all posts and I will post back what I find out. |

| I'll second Spro. Amazing strength for even smaller diameter split rings when needed. I also use wolverine and worth due to lower cost when they will work. |
