| I heard something about a new state record 57 inch fish caught on Pelican Lake. Has anyone else heard about it? |

Location: oswego, il | Was emailed the article. I don't remember anything about it being a record. I am not sure the fish had the girth. Nice fish regardless congrats to the angler.

| I did some further searching an it is the new catch release record of 57 inches. Found it on Kare 11 website |

| It is a MN State catch and release record. It is a new program this year. It only uses length of the fish, not weight.
There have been longer fish caught in previous years, but that was before this program was put in place.
I think it is a cool idea, promotes catch and release!

| As far as the Pelican Lake Association and muskies go, logic need not apply. I'm 99% sure the kid who caught it was at the DNR/ Ottertail lakes association meeting back last November representing the pro-Muskie side. Good dude and grats to him on an awesome fish. |

Dave Majkrzak told everyone there are 6'ers under his dock! 57" isn't even worth the time we've all spent on it compared to all the real monsters in that lake.

| Pretty easy to at least figure out the area with that picture alone, but let's not share specifics on here if you do know. He's a real piece of work, but we don't need people stopping by his dock. |

Location: Maplewood, MN | A little bird told me that fish was NOT caught in Pelican. When the first article broke, he did not release the lake name and wanted to keep it that way. Then suddenly its from Pelican. I think its a cover up after all the press the lake got during the off season. |

A little bird told me that fish was NOT caught in Pelican. When the first article broke, he did not release the lake name and wanted to keep it that way. Then suddenly its from Pelican. I think its a cover up after all the press the lake got during the off season.
It is definitely true that it took him over a week to say where he caught it. And it very well could be somewhere other than pelican but there are only a few lakes rite there and I would have a hard time saying where I got it myself. |

| I have fished Pelican many many times over the past 10 years and I am pretty sure it is Pelican. I think it came off of a big flat on the right side as you go from Pelican into Fish. Great spot. |

Remember, if he shoot geese for pooping on his dock, imagine what he'd do to you.
Although it was everything I could do not to rent a goose costume and do the same after the hell he put us through last year. :P |

Location: MN | If I fished Pelican I'd wear one of these and go chuck around his dock. Just keep an eye out for rifles sticking out the windows.
