Location: Chisholm, MN | Does anybody know of a good video for cleaning and maintaining a Tranx? I've oiled up some parts but it seems it's time for a good cleaning. Also, has anybody had issues with the thumb bar sticking? Mine seems to be harder to push down at times now. I'm thinking it's just dirty because I put some oil in there and it worked for a little while. |

Location: Contrarian Island | for cleaning, I put it in a box every winter, put a note in there to 'clean, lube, service' and send it here: it shows up at my door a couple weeks later...

Location: Chisholm, MN | I ended up just taking it apart, cleaning and greasing. Works like it was brand new again and was pretty simple. Anyone who uses this reel may want to take a look inside and do some cleaning periodically. I noticed some dirt build up where the clutch is, which could eventually wear it out if not maintained. It was very simple compared to a lot of other reels I've taken apart. |
