Headed up to the Park Rapids area this weekend - will be staying on Lake Belle Taine with the family but hoping to hit Big Mantrap at least once.

Any news on lake conditions? water temps, clarity, high water, weed development, etc.

Any patterns developing? shallow weeds, mid-lake humps, etc.

I hit Mantrap for part of opening day the 7th, and a week later on the 13th. The main basin humps were already covered with nice cabbage weeds, water clarity was at least 10 feet.

Fished all day on the 13th only to blow it on a fish that hit a Thunder Head after sunset. It is tough to keep from setting the hook when you hear an explosion and can't see the lure... Had another follow shortly thereafter that wouldn't bite, looked like a torpedo was headed for the boat.

All my action was on Topwater, the big fish in that lake like top water...

Mantrap is a beautifull lake, and the public access is the second to none, enjoy...
