So last week I was on the lake casting. I twitched my rod a little bit and the line snapped. My next trip out I had retied the same rod and reel, the first spot we go to I hit free spoil and my line breaks again. Do I just have bad line and need to get it respooled or could an eye lit on my rod be doing this?

An eyelet may be doing this, take a cuetip and rub the inside of the eyelets and if the cotton has any changes that would be a spot to look at. Assuming the inserts are all there. I would say more likely you could have had a few bad backlashes and that damages line very easily if you are using heavy lures or trying to huck them as far as possible.

Yeah I agree, sounds like a damaged eyelet is causing the problem. Visually inspect each one or run a cotton ball through each to check for snags or a cue tip as mentioned above.

Lost my favorite buck tail like this due to a bad eyelet..... Happened two years ago and I'm still mad about it
