| Hey Guys -
Out in the MN metro this monring for musky opener my trolling motor quit working after a few hours. Wouldn't do anything. I originally thought something was wrong with the motor.
But now I figure the batteries are shot. They are 3 years old. Got them on the charger now for the past few hours and Everyhting works fine.
According to the charger they took a full charge last night and the meter on the Minkota said it was full.
So long story short I think they held a charge for a couple hours and then just bamn they died.
I don't have any way to test the batteries unless I take them to the store.
Does that make sense though if they hold a charge and then just literally die instead of slowly losing their charge?
Thanks - Midge |

| Yah I bought them at fleet farm. Gonna bring them up later and have them tested.
The good news is I scored for the first time in 20 years of musky fishing on the opener.
A nice little 36" on Bald Eagle Lake. Nothing huge but it's a good start to the season! |

Sounds like the water levels are low in the battery
We had that same issue a few years back with by buddies boat. Charged it up overnight, next morning the TM lasted about an hour. Cranking battery barely started the boat. When we checked the electrolyte levels you could clearly see the tops of the cells. No distilled water, so we used we used Dasani. Took several bottles to cover the cells. What do you know, the next day everything held a charge. Not sure how marine batteries hold up after that, but I know it's pretty much a death sentence for a car battery...
