Hey guys, I just bought a lowrance hds7 touch for my 2004 ranger 620 vs to replace the old lowrance lcx27. After removing the old chart plotter, the new HDS is thinner and there is a about a half inch gap on both the bottom and top of the new unit. Any tips on how to cover the gaps while being esthetic? Thanks!

You could have Ranger send you a new panel. Could cost too much.

Or find a piece of Aluminum and make a new one?

Shep, I was leaning toward the second idea. I'm thinking new panel is probably $$$. But couldn't hurt to call Ranger.

If you don't ask, they can't say yes, it's this much. Or this little!

I've called Ranger at times and been surprised at the price for certain replacement parts. Sometimes it's good sometimes your a little shocked! Never hurts to ask.

So I called ranger and unfortunately, they do not have the wood grain panel in stock anymore and will not be carrying it. Bummer, thanks for the input though guys! I'm thinking about getting a piece of aluminum or plastic and making a new one liek Shep recommended. Anyone have any experience with this?
