Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | The fishing was outstanding for pre-fishing but slowed when it counted for most. The sun was high and hot all weekend !!!
We fished Thursday afternoon on our spots and pulled the baits away from a few legal muskies. With that working we decided to try a new spot with the same pattern and structure we are fishing on Friday.
Friday we had a slow start, got out early afternoon, after a slight case of the Weasels flew. Went to the lake we were not going to fish and decided to stick some fish for practice. We raised 8 fish in the 36 to 45 inch range and one pushing 50 that I had dogging my Power Probe for three turns. We boated a 46, 40 and three other sub-legals. After that we were hard pressed not to fish that spot for the tournament.
We fished it the next day and raised 14 fish and lost 4 fish that we got a look at. The big girl did show up twice but could not get her to go. We had our chances so we came back the next day and had two more hits and a couple follows. Not boating a fish in the tournament hurt but the fun we had was great. Short hits and lots of weeds kept us off the leader board, two of the fish just dove into the weeds and came off some how.
What a great tournament and the food was awsome each night.. I will be back.
The hot baits were the Mini Power Probe in hot tiger pattern.
Over 30 follows and 5 fish boated in three days on them. |
