Anybody shipped a rod recently? Wondering what the cost is to ship an 8 footer. I would use FedEx or UPS. Thanks.

FedEx or ups will probably be in the $30 range plus or minus a little. Check out http://www.speedeedelivery.com/rates.html if you live in the upper Midwest. Their rates are real good (around 10 or 15 bucks) in the regional states they deliver to.
