Howdy,

I never really got into these lures but I am thinking that I should. I have read all of the posts out there on them, however, since some are older I wanted to get some recent opinions.

That said, what is the major difference between these three sizes as far as performance is concerned? Also, do all lengths benefit from weighting?

Weighting will always be a personal preference and will also depend on the piece of wood that was used and how much water the bait has sucked up. In general, the 6" is the most erratic and you can move it the fastest. The 8" is slightly less erratic and works better at slow to medium speed retrieves. The 10" is more of a dive-and-rise than a glider and works well as a jerk-trolling bait.

I throw the 6" a lot and they seem to start working better once they start to soak up water.
