| Late in the season last year, I bought a used Lund Pro V. I spent a lot of time with the former owner going over everything, except the radio. I saw it was there but since I seldom use a radio except if I am on the water when the Packers are playing, it is not an issue for me. My son came up to fish with me a few weeks later and wanted to put some tunes on. He could not get the radio to work, despite having the original owners manual. Checked everything, nothing helped.
This spring, I put a new starter battery in, given that the old one was at least 8 years old. I cleaned up all the connections at the same time. After getting everything on the boat set, I thought I would check the radio, see if it was getting power, etc. Well, I turned on the accessory switch and the radio works just fine. My one thought was that one of the connections was corroded and cleaning it cleared up the problem. However, I can't believe that the radio would be the only thing on a lead. And all other accessories worked before, locators, bilge pumps, lights, etc. Thoughts?

Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | Very common to have a radio tied into an accessory switch. Mine is like that now, and the switch is only for the radio

| The switch I turned on is the main accessory switch. It has to be on for the locators and several other things to work. And I think I had it on when I tried to get the radio to work before. That was why I wondering about the connections I cleaned up. But, maybe it was turned off and I didn't notice. |

Location: Central Wisconsin | It used to be a common problem for me in my Jon boat. I had one battery for the electric start 25hp motor, a small sonar unit and the 12v trolling motor. The terminals would corrode and it would disable something, but not everything. I also have an onboard charger connected to the battery. I know it's not ideal, but it works pretty well for me.
I would say that was likely the problem. |

| The radio is probably wired to the fuse panel. Without the accessory switch on the fuse panel won't have power. Unless you cleaned up connections at the fuse panel, the connections were probably not the issue. |
