Location: Eden Prairie, Mn.

I got angst - no ski's ! nothin' not even a follow, blow-up, boil or seen a sunnin' fish. What ???
I don't get it. I know my way around the lake, but jeez.
I was on exposed rock, shallow rock, mid-rock, deep rock and rockwalls rock points/reefs and miles of shoreline.
Bays- muddy, weedy, sandy and rocky. Shallow 2ft, shallow 3-6 and mid depths 6 ft. plus (outside weed edge)
Sand - shallow, deep, with weeds and with rock and weeds.
Fished current - creek mouths in/out. The Dam - the river channel the
edge of the river channel and the flats/bays/weeds/rock/points adjacent to
the river channel. Casted and trolled.
Fished Big Bay, north and south of Ely Is. all over north of Pine Is.
and then went to the Cook side up to the 'Dam' and fished the weeds all over there. Great pockets of cabbage and some other tall growing weed?
Water temps. ranging from 65-70 depending on location. Water clarity
was nearly 10 ft. on Big Bay - I could see structure that I've never seen
before, and how to attack it. SWEET !! Up by the Dam is was 5+ ft.
Baits - small/large size hair. Blk.silver,Firetiger,Perch,Prpl.gold and
White and silver. Cranks/twitch 5-7 in. you name the color. Jerks/Glides
5-8in. perch/wally/sucker/firetiger and ?? And finally some topwaters
blk.green Topraider, perch Jackpot and a black Creeper.
I went through 30gal. of gas and a whole bottle of spf30 suntan lotion !!
Up at 4:30 am fri. fished till 6 pm and went back out for the nightbite.
Beautiful full moon - moon rise and sun set were within' thirty minutes -
Prime time spots !!!! Nothin' Pretty much did the same thing on sat.
Oh the humanity, the horror.

My beloved Lake Vermilion report

Nice report!

I also was on Big Bay last weekend. Spent Sat. with Ace. What a beautiful day...no, weekend. One nice fish nipping at my Eagletail. I think it was the weather, too hot, too sunny, too calm, too much full moon. Maybe it was the clear water in Big Bay. Never seen it so clear. Anyway, the fishing was great...
Looking forward to next weekend!

yo mother, did you look in the casino? I know the muskies like to play blackjack this time of year, look for a slimed seat. I like to fish this lake under non-ideal conditions and usually don't start until the 3rd or 4th week in July. Thanks for your report, I let you know how I fair next month. Good luck
