Sounds like you've got the "Netman's Curse" [=D]. I know what you mean though, I would've had my first musky on my last fishing trip.. My brother had a blowup(the fish missed) on a topwater bait and I threw on it with a Suick..When I got the bait to boatside I pulled it out, not realising I had a follow...I guess if I would've kept the bait in the water a second longer it would've got bit. Bet that musky thought he was seeing things!

After starting off right this year, and catching a 'ski two hours into the first trip, I thought it would be a great year. Since then, I have put 3 others in the boat, but my biggest of the year is only a 37". I havent caught one in 43 days. If I had to guess how many hours i've been at it this year, id say its between 250 and 300 total. So, 70ish hours per fish. Not exactly what I was hoping for this year!

Nope - see my Lake Vermilion post. I just can't believe it.
40+ hrs on the water this season and nothin' Oh well it just means I have to buy more lures because mine are all appearently out of fashion.

It has been very, very, very, very slow for me. So, far this year I have a two footer and one I had to strech to make 30 inches. I have been to the Indiana muskie lakes too many times with nothing to show for it, Silver Lake in southern Wi., has turned it's back on me. Only positive note is my dad getting a nice 40 incher out of Shelbyville, and I can only take credit for it for a short time. Al

Had the Muskies going the first three times out this year, but the last time wasn't so good.

Its a long season and I'm not worried. After all we always release them anyways.

I have only caught 3 but have only been out 3 times. Our last 3 springs have been way behind. Lets hope the summer stays mild so we can have a great sumer of fishing like last year. The year before sucked with that 100 degree heat wave. Going to the flambeau flowage in a week, can't wait, hope to get my kids into some fish.

I havent had the greatest spring for numbers as of yet.only 6 fish in 9 trips out. All my partners and friends are well over double digits. Oh well, sometimes you just cant catch them all.

I do have one thing over my partners this year, i have been lucky enough to get a Kentucky 50" and a 49" out of Ohio. Hopefully things will improve as I am getting ready for Canada.

Started on skis the first time seriously last spring and still none in the boat! About 90 hours so far this year and still none landed, but hoping a trip to Big V will help change things. All the time should make the first fish truly worth it.

I am having a better than expected year,so far,2 muskies, one 30 and the other 34 plus a few others seen. Not too bad considering if I fish for more than 2 or 3 hours my neck/left arm really starts to hurt.I have ventured on to new water and realized I do know what the heck I am doing...MUCH better than last year!!!Now if I can get my 11 year old nephew his 1st muskie I will have a fishing partner for life.

I finally put the first one in the boat this year on Sunday. I didnt think I would ever get one before fall. It usally seeems that after you get the first one out of the way it starts to pick up, but after reading some of replies, maybe not.

Note - I feel kinda bad about slamming Slamr above. It was sort of an inside joke, earlier in the week I was talking with Slamr about being jinxed by his fine new boat. He'll get the skunk out soon. Shep went thru the same thing, as I recall.

Well Flower, you know you must have brought me good luck. I put the rods away after everything seemed to just die and you saw me running to just get some time on the new motor.

Friday was my big breakout day and I thank you for bringing me some luck, LOL!. Saturday really bit the big one out there with only seeing 3 as opposed to the 19 plus the 2 in the boat. I keep forgetting about the last decent one that I had way in the shallows on a Top Raider come right to the boat, so make it 20. Not sure if I will have a day like that again this year, but I will certainly take it.

I hope that things continue in the right direction for me and I hope that you get things going for yourself. I was as frustrated as you up until Friday, then Saturday did not help. Oh well, we will have to see what happens.

Take Care and Good Fishing,

Chuck

Yup, last year I couldn't get that critter out of my boat until August 5th! Now, to be fair, I only fished for Muskies in May, and only one or two outings in most of June and the first part of July. But then I really was on a mission. I had well over 100 hours trolling, and many hours of casting, and it just got smellier. Then I turned to my fellow MFer's for help. I had offers of help from several of the hot sticks here.

I finally got the skunk out after fishing with Jason Smith for 15 Minutes! The rest of the year went quite well, and despite the slow start, put enough fish in the boat to place 4th in my MI chapter contest last year. This year started out just fine. Scored on my first day out, and had 5 fish in May. The last 3 trips, I've seen a lot of fish, and am targetting one particular fish I raised last Thursday. Maybe tonight?

Slamr, I suggest you get some help here. I tried to do it alone last year, and finally got smart. Create the challange as I did, and put up a $100 donation to Ashton in the name of the MFer who will bear the title of this year's SkunkEraser! Just being able to launch without handing out clothepins will make it worthwhile!

First time I've ever seen someone slam somebody, then reprimand themself, thanks Ranger, I guess. Yes, I suck this year....tried to chase some fish on some relatively new waters, raised a bunch of pigs, no eaters.....then went with Ralphie for some embarrassment, and even Sworrall Series Lake Xs in Rhinelander couldnt get me any. Did poke some little dinkers on Webster a few weeks ago, but that was in Azrael....the Pale Rider and I are not on the same page as of yet.

62 hours and counting..grrrrrr, no fish in the net yet.
I should have 2, they were hooked, smashing t-bone hits at boatside, but didn't stay on!!

Up until the last 5 hrs of casting, I have at least seen NICE fish every time out, now I'm not seeing them.

Thanks to Phishead (Mike L.) for getting the skunk out of my boat a few weeks ago, but I can't seem to slime my own new boat.
