I'm looking for a decent unit under $200.00. I'll be in a 14 ft. V hull boat and fishing in water that's in the 100 ft. and less range. I'd like DI with sonar. Grey scale or color doesn't matter that much but would lean toward color. As far as screen size, the bigger the better but at this price range I can't expect too much. If anyone has some suggestions on units out there that's nice for this price range let me know. I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.

I know you set the budget at $200 but f you can up it another $40 I'd take a look at the Humminbird Helix 5. I got one (with SI) last year and was pleased with it.

EDIT: I just did a quick search online and saw one for $225. Look around and you may be able to find a better deal yet.

You might want to look into Vexilar Sonarphone Sp200 ($150). Its a transducer that connects to a wifi box and u can use any smartphone or tablet, even multiple units. If u get a navionics app for $10 ull have a fully functional color sonar (no di) and gps. You can even create live charts for the lakes that are not listed. I think its a neat idea, havent tried it but would love hear from someone who has. Do a search on Youtube, many positive reviews on it.

I appreciate the help and I have looked at the PiranhaMax 197c DI. They are on ebay for a decent price. I'll take a look at that Vexilar Sonarphone, it sounds interesting.

As others have pointed out, smartphones and tablets are often not good in bright sun, and can't be used in wet conditions/weather...

I am using Humminbird piranhaMAX197c DI, and Im pleasure. The PiranhaMax sports a 3.5-inch LCD monitor with 320×240 pixel matrix. In addition, it is a compact fish-finder, which has a front dimension of 5.6 by 3.9 inches and a little over 1.3 inches in depth. Helix 5 has some great options in the $300'ish range and you can also find the Humminbird 688 cxi HD DI/gps combo for 270, both great options
