Pricing out a Lund Impact 1875 Sport and trying to figure out my electronics.

Here’s what I got:

1 Humminbird Helix 10 DI Sonar/GPS Combo mounted at the console center.

1 Humminbird Helix 12 SI Sonar/GPS Combo mounted at the console right.

1 Humminbird Helix 10 SI Sonar/GPS Combo at the bow.

All units will be networked.

The plan for the console is use the 10 for mapping and or sonar and the 12 for SI and DI.

2 questions - will the transducers for these two units interfere with each other?

Can I share the 12’s SI on the 10 while simultaneously watching DI on the 12 or vise versa?

If they are networked you can use any transducer on any unit. There would be no need to have more than 2 transducers on the stern, a SI and a high speed. You also wouldn't need the DI on the 10 as you can use this off the 12. I also don't recommend a SI unit on the bow unless you know the limitations. SI works best going in a straight line between 2-6mph, which you are rarely doing running the trolling motor. What trolling motor are you planning on having on the bow?

Yep, know about the bow mount SI limitations but the pros outweigh the cons. Yes, I could use the 12's signal to read DI on the 10 but simultaneously while looking at SI on the 12? I'm getting a Minnkota Terrova 80/US2/60 Ipilot Link

From what I have read you can see the SI version of DI on the second unit.

Yes you can view si on the 10 and di on the 12 at the same time.
To avoid interference, set the si to 455 the di to 800 the 2d from one unit to 83 and the 2d from the other to 200.

you said the pro's of a si on the bow outweigh the cons. could you elaborate further? genuinely curious because ive just always heard the opposite.

Thanks

You can share SI and DI between graphs. So if you buy a 12 SI and just a 10 sonar/gps you can view SI/DI on the 10 by choosing the 12's transducer. Unless you wanted a separate source at the TM this would save you a little cash.

I just checked with HB to make sure I could view SI/DI on a Helix 9 sonar/gps when Ethernet connected to my 899SI and they said yes it can do that.

Yes, if the frequencies are same. But I wonder how much time you'll spend fishing. I removed my front sonar, it was to disttracting watching it, now i spend more time casting and focusing on my retrieve, etc. I just ask the guy who's on the back deck what's the depth or I can flip my HB SI around because I installed it on a RAM mount. I didn't have room for it on my console.

There's also HB forum page's - most are monitored by HB folks..post there & see what you get for responses. There's a lot more user's out there with setups like you are thinking about.
