Growing up and working in the fishing industry you truely learn alot about people. Unfortunatly, in a sport that is driven so hard with emotion bad feelings can evolve. Sometimes people get jealous, arrogent and even worse, spiteful. These malicious attitudes can tarnish what to me, is the greatest activity in the world...musky fishing. I would like to take the time to voice my opinion of how humble, sharing and caring these fishermen can be. There are without a doubt, no midwest anglers more dedicated to catch and release than musky anglers. Bless Muskies Inc for beginning an explosion of conservation of our fish and the habitats they live in. It is so encouraging to the future of the sport to watch the attitudes of so many of the anglers I fish tournaments "with" not "against" in the Wisconsin Musky Tour. Some people believe that tournaments ruin fisherman ethics but I have seen quite the opposite. I fish with over 100 guys in tournaments all who are happy to see others success, and to share with others all together enjoying a wonderful sport. I've been blessed to know pros like Joe Bucher and Roger Sabota, wonderful anglers who support the future and education for so many people new to the sport. Most of all, I feel blessed to fish with the quality of human beings as I fish with. My friends Phil Schweik, Pete Hilman, Tom Hanaman and Craig Lemmer are like family to me. Being the youngest of our little musky clique they do so much to help me become a better angler everyday and the help I get from them in so many other things. Spending 10 hours plus a day in the boat with these guys you really get to know your friends, you talk about so many things, many non fishing related and after all of this time, I can be proud to be in company of such quality friends, co-workers, pros and fellow anglers. Thanks to everyone who musky fishes and how they improve the industry and realize what a large part you play in chasing after a fish.

fishing is life.. i wouldnt trade it for anything. it is so rewarding to be out on the water and enjoying life as we know it. too bad more people do not experience any kind of fishing, let alone the greatest activity, "musky fishing"...cant argue that. thank your lucky stars for lifelong friends every day...... and also thank god, or just give thanks to what ever you believe the next time your on the water, whatever the day brings, your a better man for it.

I'm gonna have to chime in on this one and agree, muskie fishermen are different from most other anglers I've encountered. Barse fishermen are secretive about their spots and techniques (ok, in general, I'm sure there's one muskie fisherman out there who's a real jerk, too; just haven't met him). I've had the pleasure of muskie fishing with 20 different folks, each one seemend to make it their mission in life to put me on fish. Some would give me baits, others show me how to properly use the ones I bought, all were a GREAT pleasure to spend the day in the boat with. Must be something about the fish being so big, mean, and stubborn that sweetens up a person. Hope it rubs off on me one day! m

Muskie anglers are the about as good as they come. Generous to a fault, and pretty easy to get along with as long as one doesn't mess with their fish. I also grew up in the 'business', and have seen the seamy side of things more times than one might be able to count. If I had to put myself in the crosshairs, and was able to pick with whom, it would be a Muskie guy every time.

Walleye guys take a close second, right Zach?
