Pardon the lack of knowledge here, but what does a cisco look like? If someone could post a picture of one that would be great. On some of the lure patterns I've seen as cisco some have a blue/silver-white pattern and others have a greyish/silver-white pattern. Any other info regarding this forage fish that you think would help me out would be great. Thanks.

That's what they look like? The only one I've ever seen was Travis, whose brother is a bearded Krappie, a rare species of northern panfish...

This months issue of a famous magazine started by a couple of brothers with the names of Al and Ron, has an execellent article about predater/prey relationships dealing with ciscos and their movements. Covers ciscos in both Meso and Oli lakes and how predaters relate to them. The article isn't really about Muskies but it does talk about cisco/Muskie interaction. Check it out.

I did'nt mention the name of the Mag because I don't know if it would be considered as directing traffic away from this site to a competitors. Don't want to start any trouble.

I fished a lake in northern WI last summer.
There were cisco in it and I saw them on my depthfinder.
They looked like this
-

when they were deeper they looked more like this

.

they looked a lot like shad to me, but I could be wrong about that.
