I spent countless hours researching, practicing, testing all kinda knots only to learn.....
they all hold the same if u use a drop of super glue. Oh the shame of it.
Tie a double overhand "grannie knot" drop some superglue and behold.

I have never had a palomar knot fail. I switched from the trilene knot after several knot failures.

There's another knot besides the Palomar?

Power Knot. Joe Bucher promoted it back in the 80s and its all I tie leaders on with. It's described in his original buck tail book. Combines a Clinch with a Palomar basically. Tricky to tie sometimes with the double line (wet helps) but once you get it, it's strong. Never had one fail.

Been using the bucher knot for 40 years... never had it fail.

I use a double palomar knot and take a lighter to the tag end - anybody else?
