Location: MN | Anyone used the stretch 30+ or 40+ crankbaits? I haven't seen a lot of feedback on them, but they seem like a reasonable option for trolling down in the 30 ft range without weight or downriggers. |

Location: oswego, il | I have but it has been a long time. I have caught a few fish with them but I was short lining. They have a tight action and are made for speed and have alot of saltwater colors. |

Location: West Virginia | Ive caught king mackerel and striped bass on them before. Work great for speed trolling in SW and slower trolling deeper in FW for the stripes. |

Are there better options for trolling down 25-35 ft? I figure a 13" believer will dig down there with enough line, and I have a TI mag shad that probably can hit 30. For $75 there is the Plow. |

It's more common than you might think...
A buddy and I have used the 30,40 and even the 16" 50+ a couple of times, mostly in the great lakes. We also tried them in the trout holes hunting for lakers at Eagle Lake. Our objective was, like with every lure, 1st see if what they claim depth wise is true, 2nd does the lure run straight at all trolling speeds, 3rd how deep can we actually get them on wire line and 4th will they stand up to the abuse.
While I probably have tried 4 or 5 30"s, my opinion is they do not run as good as other lures available. The 40 and 50"s both have a centering device, not sure what its called but the problem is it makes them tough to tune. If you can get them to run straight they will get down, we easily had the 40 down to 70' and the 50"s down to 105'. |

Talonz (Fish-all Lures) Deep Threat will get you close to that range as will Frankie Baits, Hookers, Plow, and Custom H2O Tackle Cranks. I am sure there are many others that will as well. I am sure Headlocks and Pelagics get down there but I don’t have experience with them at that range yet.
Lots of "basement" baits will get down there. |

| Best running big deep crank Ive used is the Sebile Koolie minnow. Now discontinued, you can still get on ebay and the 190 size will readily go +50'. |

Location: Sycamore, IL | +1 on the Sebile Long Lip lures. Good action and they get really deep. I use both the 160 and 190 size...I heard they made a 240 size that I'd love to try out as well . I also like the Yozuri Hydro Mag's in the salt water trolling category. Lot's of smaller bait makers making great deep divers as well... |
