Anyone know the dates of the Hodag Tournament this year?

No permits have been secured, according to the DNR website. Doubtful it would be Sept. 9-11 as it is the World Championship Musky Classic. But your guess is as good as mine whether it would be the weekend of the 17th-18th, or 24th-25th. I can't find anything on the chamber's calendar in September either.

The chamber responded to a facebook post indicating the 23-25 as the dates, no permit pulled yet though. Its a great tournament but , gosh do they know how to F it up.

Couple things, first, the chamber just got a new director, third one in five or six years. Second, if you have ever worked with a chamber of commerce, the paid staff is pulled by the dues paying members in many different directions. The weekend it was held on for many years was also the Fall Ride up in Tomahawk, which draws thousands from out of the area. The motel and restaurant owners didn't need additional customers for that weekend, so they pushed the chamber to change the dates, which created more conflicts with other events. The chamber members pay the salary of the staff and they dictate what is done. I agree the tournament seems disorganized and hopefully they will get their act together but there are reasons other than incompetence on the part of the staff.

When working, I was a volunteer for different projects organized by two different chambers and it was often frustrating because the member companies all had their own agenda.
