Caught this one on a small Chicago area lake. The funniest thing is that we lost even bigger fish 10 minutes prior on a sucker and we were moving to the other spot and I put the counter reel in gear with 3 feet out dragging the sucker on a surface and that's when she hit it. I was so surprised because for the moment i didn't know what was going on cuz i knew for sure i wasn't hitting any structure. Trolling motor only allowed on the lake so the sucker was making zig zagz just under the surface. And sorry for the 2/3 pic but my 65 year old father didn't exactly know what to do with a touch screen.

Sorry couldn't get the pic uploaded from my phone and i also have both fish caught on go pro but i lost the usb for it and no other one will upload the pics to my laptop. Ill get the cable this and post both videos next weekend. And yes its on Mallard. Too bad they stopped stocking. And Lees has or can get some bigger sucker 12 to 14. Just gotta let him know on Wednesday cuz he gets his fish on Thursday. This one swallowed the whole sucker and then some. Actually had a hard time to get the hooks out. Hopefully fish is going to be ok. And who said sucker fishing wasnt fair lol.

Snagged a beaver this year on a hellhound. Massive headshakes turned out to be the tail hitting the line. Bit through the leader just before boating it, but was hooked through the midsection and hind leg and was unable to submerge. Didn't want the beaver to die (or lose my hellhound) so I netted it and cut the hooks. That SOB gnawed some huge holes through my net while I was cutting hooks though. I hate beavers haha.

That's hilarious!

I was gonna say something about how most guys like wet beavers...

But I won't.

Not my catch, but I took the ex-girlfriend and her daughter fishing for the 5 year-old's first fishing expedition. She was getting bored and we had said a few minutes longer. Right after that her Barbie pole doubles over. I thought it may be a decent catfish, but she reels it in like a trooper and sees it a turtle and drops the pole in the water. Her mom grabs it just before it's out of reach and we pull it in. Pretty fun stuff, she was scared to get close to it, because it was snapping so much, but was very proud.

My buddy nabbed himself a little gar while slow rolling a double-dawg. Not at all what we expected to see come up.
