Location: Minnesota | Went to Mille Lace today lost a low 40 inch on a fat basterd came from under boat never seen it coming fun 30 seconds.after not seeing any thing I thought I would try trolling. Using a planer bord with a head lock. New line this spring 100# line broke 2 feet behind planer bord lost a new head lock. This line should have never broke looks good. But can't trust it so I have to re spool 6 reels just seeing what's every one else is using |

Location: minocqua, wi. | check the line guides on that rod first, second ... did you troll over rocks? you can double the line with a simple square not close to the bait to reduce possibility and also, could you tell if the line broke or a knot broke? my guess is you had something "happen" and not a clean line break. |

The way those baits sell, I bet you could sell the gps coordinates where you lost it for a dollar or two.
abrasion would be my guess as to the break in your line as mentioned above. |

Location: Minnesota | I'm using TX-44 supper planer.i checked my guides with a Q tip everything is good that's what's puzzles me never had problems with this line nor have I heard anyone else havin problems. I was fishing Mille Lace on the north Shore. 15 feet so no rocks.if I could explanation why it happened it would make me fell better.i just don't know if I can trust the line .I would hate to have it happen on a fish and loosing a 75 dollar bait don't help eather. The line broke 2 feet behind the planer bord wasn't a clean break but something failed with the line. |

Location: minocqua, wi. | had you used that rod/line previously casting crank baits? or inspect it prior to tying your leader and connecting the board? if you cast or troll crank baits it's amazing how much fray damage you can do to your line quite a way up from the bait. good luck with your problem solving ... |

Location: Minnesota | The rod was one of my trolling rods it's all I use it for I don't do a lot of trolling take a break eat lunch I'll troll .I used that rod one other time this year so I might have a total of 2 hours on that line.i guess I'll call it a fluke and trust it. |

| lost a bait this year when a fish hit the tx44 planer board. clicker went off over 55 ft of water and 8 ft of line paid out. Board was still attached but no bait, looked for 1/2 hour with 2 boats. sound similar?

Location: Eastern Ontario | If you buy Power Pro on Ebay you stand a chance of getting counterfeit line there was a lot around 2 or 3 years ago and I'm guessing there's still lots out there. Is there a chance you at one time had the line clipped on there we had problems with wear at the clips because of the sharp angle the line makes at the clip problem was worse with the locking clips. We are now playing with gluing oversize rubber pads on the clips which so far has been working. Also have been playing around with mono but really don't care for the feel of fishing with a rubber band. I troll Hosebaits which I'm sure would pull every bit as hard as a Headlock. Location: pittsburgh, pa | The reason i asked what planer board is because i have seen it way more then a few times with braid. The line will actually wear against the black pin and break. Ive had it happen a few times and so have my buddies. I use mono for them now. I actually try to avoid running the 44s as much as possible because of this. Also if ur not using the lock jaw the line can actually slide and dig into the spring on the black clip that comes with it and break. |

Location: oswego, il | Braid slips for me on the church and offshore locking clips. I still double wrap. I have yet to see wear on my power pro. I suspect if you troll a ton, run the same baits, same amount of line out on the same board you could create a weak spot. |

Location: pittsburgh, pa | I hear you horsehunter on the mono. I cant stand the feeling of what i call no feeling at all that i get with mono. Only thing i use it for are the inlines which i only use in early spring. Pull the big bords out after that |
