Good Morning
A fresh report from Rowan surface temps are around 72 main lake
The lake trout are in their summer deep holes and just great jigging for them went
Out for (2) hrs.and caught (12) from 8-12 lbs. great fun. The small mouth bass are really every where and lots of them.OK let's talk Muskies they have been on Rocks for a while and the BIG ones one main lake rock reefs and very active. For the most part all on blades get a follow through back with a Suick and catch them just like that. In the last few days they have made a shift to the deep weeds 10-15 ft weeds have exploded
And finding the fish very shallow where the shore meets the weed bed once again on blades and some on glide baits.it is shaping up to be a great Aug and sept. Thanks for checking in and all the best of Luck where ever you are fishing later Don

Hey Don, for someone who wants to spend a "short stay trip" (kind of a bucket list kind of thing) on Rowan and hire you for the 3-4 days:
1.)for guys who have fish up to 54" under their belt already and want to "go for broke"...what would be the best time to go?
2.)how far in advance would booking need to be to get you as the guide?

The best time to be here is from now thru the month Aug. they are vulnerable to those of us that enjoy casting for them in deep weed beds. Great fishing
As for my guiding I am retiring and will not be guiding any more.its a sad thing for sure.
Booking a trip should be done around Christmas time to get the specific time you are shooting for. The lake has a huge population of fish not just big fish I have seen fish in the 60 inch class during my 30 years here had them on and lost them they are a different class of fish we are not used to dealing with. Thanks for asking and all the best where ever you chase the greatest of them allLater Don
