Location: West Central WI | Ditto on Lakemaster. Bought one last year for a 1-week trip, fishing LOTW. I was nervous the first day and approached some of the shallow rock humps with caution using my trolling motor. After finding that it was extremely accurate, I found myself taking shortcuts, but still gave full respect to humps that would have taken out my lower drive. That chip is amazing for keeping you out of trouble AND putting you where you want to fish. |

I ran a Premium North chip for several years in a 997, then went to a Platinum North when I purchased a 1198 three years ago. I"ve found the Platinum North to have good detail on the section of the woods that I fish every year. |

| You can go online and preview Navionics lake maps anywhere in the world, whats on the Webapp will be on the chip. There are 2 views available the Nautical charts view with less detail and the SonarChart view with the "SonarChart Layer" which is much more detailed and precise. Follow this link to the webapp http://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en#@6&key=orbpGbpzwP after you zoom in click on the sonar icon on the lower left of the screen for SonarChart view. I would rec. a Nav + card or if own a Hotmaps Premium the Navionics Updates card which converts your Premium to Nav +. Nav + covers all of US and Canada you download the area that you fish. So you can have anywhere in the US and Canada on one card not multiple cards.
You can also log sonar upload it to Navionics and they will process this data which you download to your card with updated cartography. You can also do updates to your card for the first free with purchase so your card will never be out of date. What this gives you if Navionics improves mapping in areas you can refresh your card.

I thought it worked well and kept me safe out there. This year I have Humminbirds and will be taking the same chip.
Lakemaster might be better but the Navionics is certainly better than nothing. |

What Hummingbird did you get?
If you have a Hotmaps Premium card you can upgrade to Nav + with high def SonarChart layer for 99.00 by purchasing the Navionics Updates card for 99.00. It converts you Premium to Nav +. I have no idea where you fish but you can compare the differences on the web app by zooming in on the areas that you fish then click on the sonar icon on the lower left corner for the SonarChart layer.
