Posts: 175 Location: Tonka, MN | I have a quick release on a cabin boat and don't wana drag it back and forth. Besides mounting it straight to the boat, any ideas on how to secure it with locks, etc?

Posts: 1901 Location: MN | My MK release bracket has a hole in it that allows a small padlock to be put through so the plate can't be removed from the boat. Unless of course they have a good bolt cutter with them in which case you're probably not going to foil them anyway.

Posts: 102 | It's really not hard to take it off if you have the quick release mount. Why not just remove it each time you head home, leave the TM in the cabin. I have numerous friends that do this and the peace of mind is worth the little bit of effort of removing it each time they head home.

Yes, this or a small enough lock that you can't get a bolt cutter to the shaft of the lock.

| I ended up buying 2 mounting plates if I remember correctly and stacking them. It has a "U" bolt and a hole with pin for pad lock. Good deterrent, but if they want it, it would not be hard to take it. Attachments ---------------- 20150619_062835.jpg (73KB - 330 downloads) 20150619_062849.jpg (63KB - 340 downloads) | |||
