| What would be a good product for gluing a seat cushion back down to the plastic base? One of mine is coming apart, and it looks like was originally just some glue holding it together.
I should have taken a pic of my seat, but here's the style, with the seam in question colored red.

Location: Spencer, Wisconsin | The company I work for we make aircraft seats and we use hot shot or what is commonly called, super glue to connect loose ends to the seat structure along with Velcro. See if this will help fasten your upholstery back.

Location: Arena WI | Looks like a crest liner seat. I tried contact cement, glue gun and a host of other things all worked for a short time. Finally orderd some custom seats for nota bad price that look just as good and a lot cheaper than factory seats. |

Location: Hayward, WI | They used 3M Scotch weld DP-8005 on them when they made them. It is very hard to find but does work to fix them if you get it cleaned up. |

Location: Lake Elmo, MN | 3M makes some adhesive called VHB (very high bond), that has been used by the aircraft industry and others. It is unbelievable stuff. Not sure how it's sold tho. Maybe a call to 3M may shed a bit of light on it. I thought it was available in liquid and tape form.....could be wrong though.
Good luck ! |
