Got a couple questions for you guys. Background: I was (maybe still have) motor problems. I took the motor into a Merc dealer (50hp merc) and they found that the fuel filter and pump were clogged with material consistent with new boat construction material. I got the boat back last night and will be trying it out this weekend. Have you guys ever had this problem and if so, how did it eventually settle out? I will be calling the place of purchase and my guess is that they will be telling me to contact a Crestliner area rep.

Thanks.

Peter

Yes, my Merc 150 was purchased new and immediately developed major problems. Turn out to be the same problems as yours. Material from the manufacture of the boat got into the fuel tank and eventually clogged the fuel filters. The dealership simply changed the fuel filters both at the fuel tank and inside the motor cover. It's a simple fix, but may take a couple more filter changes before everything gets cleaned out. I suspect she'll run fine w/ a filter change or two. Mine did. BTW, be sure to replace w/ water seperating fuel filters.
