I like Hardheads, but prefer the tails of BullDawgs. Is there anyone that makes a Mag Dawgs type tail for the Hardhead?

I think Phantom is making tails like that for the Hardheads now in addition to the regular grub tail.

Phantom does make a long tail in a similar style in all 3 sizes. They also have a twin tail in the large size in that style. A paddletail in all 3 sizes is also made so the HardHead is very versatile bait by just changing tails.

Hey Roger,

Do you know where the replacement twin tails can be purchased ? I just checked the phantom website and I couldn't find them there. Then again, they also have Pastika's listed as a Wisconsin dealer so it could be that the site is woefully out of date.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure who sells them, I would start by contacting them direct.

Roger is the "small" hard head you used to make being produced by phantom now called a "medium" by them or is not really available anymore?

What I called the small is what Phantom calls the medium. They have different names for them, what I called BucketHead is called the magnum by them.

Thorne Bros carries a variety of tails for the Hardhead, including paddle, single blade, and double blade tails. For the longer tail, they may have some at the musky show this weekend.

I don't see these on TBros site. Do they actually have them in stock?

The tails are listed under Jigs and Plastic Trailers on Thornebros.com, and they have even more variety at their store than listed online.

The tails Roger references are what my friend Jeremy calls the 'snottys', which are elongated similar to those of a mag dawg. The tails in Pete's post on the Rollie and Helens link are the widely available original tail. An action plastics super grub can also be used in their stead. The 'snotty's' are difficult to get hands on but are the tails that the OP was referring to. It's been diofficult getting in touch with todd Cleveland from Phantom lures. If anyone has a contact where he can be consistently reached, please advise as he is sending me some lures and needs my address.

Thanks much.
