| Hey guys,
new to musky trolling and am planning on installing 4 rod holders on my boat (2 on each side). Do I have to run planner boards with this set up.
Thanks for the help |

On a four rod set-up, I'd put out two planer boards, one lure in the prop wash, and a long line behind the boat (Distance depends on your lure and how deep you want it to run.)

Location: Ashland WI | I plan on trying some trolling this year with 4 lines.
My thought is to put two rods in the back rod holders with no boards.
I will then put two rods in the front holders with boards.
If it appears like there is room, I may put one in the prop wash. |

Whatever you do, you absolutely want one rod in the prop wash since it is often the most productive rod in your spread.

Sure, the prop wash rod has it's moments, but I'd say over the long haul, the the top producing boat rods would either be the side rod or down rod. |
