Location: Neenah, WI | I have a 1994 690 Ranger with a 175 Hp Merc. at the current time I have a high five 21 ss but i can only get 5200 rpms at full speed and this motor
is rated to run peak at 5500-5800. Which would be the prop to put on.
P.S. compression is ok |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The High 5 is designed to be able to run one pitch bigger wheel that most three blades. If you can, try a 19. I think the High 5 --13.25 X 19 pitch would get you up around 5600 to 5700. order number is 48-815758A46. |

Location: In the slop! | You might want to have a shop check your tack. I would think a 175 on that boat with a 21 pitch prop should be pushing 6000 rpm's. There are a lot of variables, but I would think a 21 to 23 pitch prop would be about the right blend of holeshot and top speed. Good luck, Mike Jensen. |

Location: Eau Claire, WI | I have a Ranger 690 with a 175 Mariner, 21 pitch 3 blade Tempest. It will top out at 5400-5500 RPM.
I have not played with the props I don't need any more and have always been conservative with my motors. I would suggest getting your tach checked as stated earlier. |

| Each blade youadd drops your rpm by about 200. A motor with a three blade will run at 5600-6000 rpm, go to a four blade only 5400-5800. Check merc website and look up props explains the whole thing. |
