Location: Sawyer County, WI | Good video, but where can I find "Outfitting The Beginner Muskie Troller" ? I'd love to hear the merits of various crank baits, line counter reels, rod holders and most importantly, guide recommended drink holders. It's only a few months off now. No time to waste on the wrong equipment !

Posts: 15 Location: Illinois | Yes its very expensive starting out. I'm in over a grand and feel like I still don't have everything. Still haven't landed a muskie yet. Best advice was in the video, don't go cheap . I have learned this the hard way.

Posts: 397 Location: Wisconsin | I have, as many of you, spent stupid amounts of money on this sport hahaa. Recently had a conversation with a friend about it, and realized I haven't spent any of my disposable money on anything else for a loooong time. The funny thing is, I justify it all

Posts: 1202 Location: Money, PA | Starting out doesn't have to be SO expensive....Just don't get caught up in all the "hype"...I could outfit a novice to be able to cast and troll for a few hundred bucks, no question; assuming he already has a boat. You DO NOT need 150 different baits and 6 different action rods and various speed reels, etc to get you started. I would start out basic and economical first to see if this sport is even for you....After that, when you are hooked and start researching and seeing all the available "stuff" and trying to keep up with the Jones' is when it WILL get expensive!
