Posts: 3 | Looking to do a late fall (October) trip to Eagle this year and looking for feedback on Andy Myers Lodge. Who has been there and will you please share your experience. Did you mostly cast or troll and which method did you have the most success? Thanks!

Posts: 8782 | Went there for the first time in 2007 for my once-in-a-lifetime "trip of a lifetime". Made my reservations for the next year before I left camp. Been there 6 times since. My advice: GO. You won't be sorry. My top 5 fish out of AML: 46, 47, 47, 48, 49.5 Biggest in the boat: 52.5, 53 Best day: 6 fish up to 47 Number of fish we've had up estimated to be over 50": at least a dozen. Most follows from same fish: 13 (over 3 days) Seen two fish that left me speechless. When your guide says "Oh my GOD..." you know it's big.

Posts: 38 | Top notch resort! I've fished with 4 of their guides they are all excellent and will put you on fish. Spent a lot of time casting, but I know Steve loves to troll too. The food is great the cabins are comfortable. You will love it

Posts: 306 | I've been to Eagle several times, but never to AML simply because I prefer the less popular, more remote resorts. But, I've heard nothing but good things about the place, and if its a guided trip you are after, that's probably the place to go. Regardless, you can't go wrong with Eagle. Cast/troll is a personal preference. The follows are what make muskie fishing exciting to me, so it's 100% casting in my boat.

Posts: 944 | Have stayed there many times, fished a lot that last week of Oct. Not many fishermen around have all the spots to your self. If it was super cold we would troll more. Otherwise we would just troll from spot to spot or during lunch-Did good on MX9's and Grandmas Otherwise we did a lot of casting and running suckers. .Since you can only run 1 line per angler we would find a big fish then set the sucker out in front of it or drift back threw that area with one out. Herbie runs a great camp and will go out of his way to make sure you are on fish. Depthraiders, Grandmas, Bulldawgs, Big Joes, MX9's and even double 10 Spankys took fish casting. Might be a good idea to get a guide the first day to get you caught up to current patterns and fish locations. I have fished that last week of Oct in a t-shirt and have been there when we had to break ice with trailer everyday... the colder it was the bigger fish we caught.. Good luck you will enjoy it I always did. Jeff Hanson madisonmuskyguide.com
