What are the overall rod weights of the 8'6" Xh full cork and split grip models? I was wanting to compare that to a St. Croix sling blade. I know they are much cheaper than a St. Croix but ounces matter when chucking all day long.
Thanks

Sorry, just saw this. At the Milwaukee muskie expo... These are not exact but very close. I need to be home to weight the rods on my analytical scale to give you the exact number. MH is 9.5oz, Xh is just over 10oz and the XXH is right around 12oz. If you want, email me and I can get you the exact weights to 0.01 when I get home Monday.

After loading up the TranX with braid, putting a good wire leader on and attaching a pounder, I don't think a couple ounces matter too much. Nice to know the TI rods are within an ounce of the infamous St Croix though.

If your using a tranx they feel much better on a 9ft TI rods then the 8'6" SC LTs they just balance better with the larger handle.

2" (SC full cork)  really makes that much difference?

I think so. I had it on the big dawg and the TI 9ft XXh. Felt much better on the TI IMO. The cork and handle length on the TI just felt better and felt more balanced to me. I put a NACL 60 5.4 back on the Dawg and the Tranx on the TI. In the end the Tranx was just too big and heavy so I sold it. Now I have NACLs on all my rods, patiently waiting the new ABU Toro Beast to replace my old Tranx.

I am thinking about selling my tranx as well. Its nice to have and I can fish all day with it but I am only 6' tall and don't have huge hands. I prefer to not hold the fore grip, rather palm the reel.

Same here 5'10 and weigh 155ish. Tranx is just too big for me.
