Wondering everyone that has a Tuffy - opinion on best color combination to keep clean? IMO - washing off dirt, scum etc is not that big of a deal but it is somewhat a factor. The bigger issue I have had with boats are the white water spots after it dries.

So, what is the opinion on best Tuffy colors from the web site to keep clean, lowest maintenance - yet looks nice?

Posting of any pictures would be a plus ~

There will be colors that hide the spots better but nothing will resist them. You just have to wash your boat every time you use it.

Yes, but some colors are definitely better than others. Won't have black again...

Keep a bottle of vinegar water in the boat. Spray the boat and wipe it down after each use. Its a 5 minute or less job at the ramp.

Yep, I do these things and yet you have to work a lot harder on some colors and spots still are noticeable later after it dries.

So, are you guys just saying any color is fine, just make sure you spend the time cleaning it?

Any of the mid to lighter color polyflakes will be fine at not overly showing water spots and dirt. White is actually not too bad unless you are in muddy conditions. Silver and Gunmetal are the best.

With boats (and automobiles) I've found that the silver/gray hides dirt and water spots best like Steve says… black is definitely the worst color and not worth the extra maintenance IMHO.

I only wash my boat once or twice a year, but last fall I got tired of looking at the hard water spots that accumulate around the motors, so I used a product called Lime Away… and it worked like magic.

However, I'm concerned that with repeated use the gel-coat might be damaged, and was wondering if anyone else has experience with this, or a better product to remove those stubborn hard water stains.

Thx to rmorgan for sending. I would think this color combination would be pretty good to keep clean and not show water spots..

Never understood the problem with keeping any boat clean. A quick spray with Lucas Slick Mist and wipe down after each use takes 10 minutes and makes the boat look new. Boats cost too much to leave looking like a piece of crap. Get whatever color you like and wipe it down. Easy.
