| My family and I are planning a trip to Cass Lake 7 to 14 June, staying at Break on the Lake. I am interested in hiring a Muskie guide for a day. Can anyone recommend a guide. I have never hired a guide before and am looking for someone who works well with a newcomer to Muskie fishing -- looking to learn as much as possible about muskie fishing tools and techniques.

| You're gonna love Break on the Lake. Great place to stay, and very nice cabins. Some big fish in that there lake, and I know Steve Cady has caught some of them. |

Location: Thibodaux, LA | Got to go with Ted Roos all the way. Has been guiding on Cass for many, many years. He has some spots that I swear disappear when I try looking for them. Break on the Lake is a wonderful place. Great people.

| Hiya,
Ted Roos, or Dan Craven would get my votes. Ted is a legend on the lake, and Dan is flat out one of the best fisherman I've ever known. Both great guys.

Location: Brainerd Area | cady's a very good stick and he know's the water very well. he's fun to fish with and can teach you the lake as well as what structure to fish and whens the best time to fish it.

Location: Orland Park | Hey Jerry......are you from Illinois? If so, we can meet up, have a couple cocktails, I can mark a map up for you, and you can save some dough. Cass is actually very easy to fish. You just have to get to the spots, and I have very easy ways to put you on the spots. |

You bet, live in Southern Illinois close to St. Louis. I will be driving up to Case, leaving around 4 to 5 June to visit family on the way up. I'd like to take you up on your offer if you have some good intel on the lake and we can figure a way to link up -- I am offering beverages of your choice...... Thanks for the reply. Also, thanks to all other feedback on guides. I'll take your recommendations and do some research.

Ted Roos has been fishing Cass forever.
Mark Has some big fish that is for sure!
Gregg Thomas is a great guide but he is on Mille Lacs this summer.
Cady- No comment on that guy.
Break on the Lake is the place to go! Steve and Julie are some of the best resort people I've met and take care of whatever you'll need!

Showed me some MONSTERS over at Big Lake, about 2 miles from BOTL. This was during the Cass Outing for MuskieFIRST last September. He's a good guy to fish with, put me on a 7 pound walleye...

Spend a day at Big Lake while you're up there, and toss jerkbaits into windblown reeds (even though you'll catch lots of reeds along the way). Big fish love the reeds...
