Last April, had a table next to a gentleman named Dennis at Smokeys lure swap, who was taking care of the bucktail end of hi-fins blade baits. I think a good portion of that business was shipped out east.

As for the hard body, crank and minnow baits, I don't think that part of the business has been in production for about 5 + years. I think that part of the business is put on hold. I bought about a half dozen crank baits about 5-6 years ago. Might be a small stock of cranks somewhere???

Under the right conditions, I still have clients throw some of hi fins productive crank baits. Hifin had some very productive baits for catching fish, and had a niche in the musky lure industry . Hopefully there is a rebound in Hifin tackle.

I have a pair of twin teaser tails that are absolutely killer in the chop. I need a few more.

Before rubber, I relied heavily on my Trophy Divers that I custom weighted for fishing suspended fish in Northern WI in the early through late 90's. Once I realized I could catch bigger fish by fishing in different locations with different methods and no longer lived and died by suspended fishing, my Trophy diver collection no longer saw as much water time. However, several of them still come into play every year, and are extremely reliable casting and trolling lures. Llloyd was always accomodating, bringing lures up to his trailer on Lake Tomahawk for me to pick up while up on a day trip.

Welcome back, Giant Scamper! I still have Jim Saric's first video "Musky Movements" from 1989 on VHS, yea vhs, where Jim catches a 25 pounder night fishing with a black giant scamper. kDAWG
