In a lake containing both muskies and hybrids would you fish any different to target the hybrids?

You can downsize and get both if you want. The nice thing about both is there are times when the true strains turn off but the tigers are on. August comes to mind. Tigers love small shinny stuff with a tight vibration. A high vibration shad bait will get more fish than a Grandma style with a slow roll. Baby Wiley and Monster shads are Tiger slayers. Pike baits like spoons, jigs and small jerkbaits. I have got them on full size baits but not often. Your odds of getting a big Tiger go up ten fold switching from 9" baits down to 6". Bright colors too. For some reason Pink or Bubblegum tend to get more bites than you would truestrain on that color.

I use all the same size baits you would for a pure breed muskie on the tigers out here in Washington. I say throw the same.

How about location any differences? The lake I'm considering holds both and has been a muskie destination over 70 years pike have only invaded in the last 20 or so.

Well I would say Washington Tigers are a bit bigger than average. My experience over 20 years of fishing them in waters with true strains and Tigers is smaller high vibration lures are best. I have got them on big trolling baits but just not as often. The main difference I noticed was they seem to show up just after the water gets to the summer peak and the truestrains turn off. Sort of counter intuitive considering they are half Pike. Other than that though they behave pretty much the same. Considering the lake has Pike creating natural tigers you may not want to down size too much as the Pike will ruin your baits. Rubber gets tigers but again Pike change the equation as they trash rubber fast.
